Hawzah News Agency- The well-attended gathering brought together various segments of society, including religious scholars, mosque imams, women, youth, missionaries, and community figures, reflecting the broad respect and reverence for the noble personality of Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) among Muslims.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a welcoming address delivered by Sheikh Muhammad Kali Kamra. In his remarks, he highlighted the lofty spiritual status of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH) and stressed the importance of commemorating exemplary Islamic figures as a means of strengthening faith. He also underscored the vital need for unity within the Islamic Ummah and emphasized religious solidarity among Muslims in Guinea-Bissau.
Sheikh Ammar Kandi, a prominent missionary in the country, addressed the gathering next, elaborating on the distinguished position of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) as outlined in the Holy Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah. He noted that adherence to the teachings and moral values of the Prophet’s household serves as a guiding light for the Muslim community.
Another keynote speaker, Sheikh Jafar Bayai, spoke about the exalted rank of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (PBUH), describing her as a timeless model of piety, patience, dignity, and devotion. He emphasized her role as an inspiration for both men and women in leading a life rooted in Islamic ethics and social responsibility.
The spiritual ceremony concluded with the performance of religious chants and tawashih by the Zainabiyah group, creating an atmosphere of devotion and joy. A concluding supplication was offered by Sheikh Jiranu Abdul Rahman Baldi, who prayed for peace, unity, and prosperity for the Muslim community and the nation at large. The event ended with a reception hosted in honor of all attendees.
Such gatherings, participants noted, play a significant role in promoting Islamic values, reinforcing communal bonds, and fostering mutual understanding and harmony among Muslims in Guinea-Bissau.
